Much of Alan Bates's work for television is as distinguished
(and as widely-known) as his films. Below, you'll find a photo
for each project, with links to the Internet Movie Database. (The All-Movie Guide also has information, though
not all of it is accurate and it is no longer possible to link
to individual pages there).
Click on each photo to visit a BA page devoted to the
film;
Click on the title to go to the IMDb page for (mostly)
correct dates, cast, and crew. The date used is usually that
of release, which can be a year or two after filming.
Films with a bold
red border are available in
DVD format;
a thin red border indicates that
at some point, a commercial video existed;
no border indicates that there has never been a commercial
release.
Films shown as a DVD are
exclusively available from the Bates Archive Shop.
See the Film
& Television Checklist for more information; many of
the out of print films are available from the Bates Archive.
"Bates 101" is a checklist
for those who are new to his films and would like some guidance
about what to see first. Your reactions and contributions are
welcome.
